Rear-View Mirror Is Small
Live a life that lifts.

The rear-view mirror is small for a reason.

Original songs about carrying weight, staying married, losing people, and still driving forward. Written by a man who carried a lot of it quietly for a long time, and is still learning how to be happy.

If you know, you know.

Look back long enough to learn. Then put your eyes on the road.

EXIT 1The catalog

Five rooms

"A house made of rooms you can't see. I'm drawing you a map, one song at a time." Start with the song that drew the floor plan. Then walk into the room you need tonight.

EXIT 2Tonight

Check in

Three quick questions, plus one optional. You get the room you need tonight, one song, and one pearl. No name, no sign-up. Come back tomorrow and it remembers how many nights you've been in the house.

EXIT 3Pearls of Wisdom

Pearls of Wisdom

Rules I paid for. I wrote them down for my daughters first. They're here because somebody else might need one today.

Resilience You can question without quitting. Feeling forsaken can sit right next to enduring.
EXIT 4A field guide for couples

Eyes Forward

Eleven conversations to have before you say "I do," or to come back to after. Each mile marker has questions, one exercise, a pearl, and songs to play together first.

One stop per sitting

Pick one topic. Give it an hour, a walk, or a long drive. Don't stack three.

Answer apart first

Write your answers separately, then trade. The surprises are where the real conversation is.

Start with the song

Play it before you talk. Let it set the tone, then ask what it stirred up.

Win one point

You don't have to settle every question. One honest answer is a good night.

What this is, and isn't. These are conversations from someone who has walked the road and is still learning it. This is not therapy or licensed counseling. If abuse, addiction, or safety is part of the picture, talk to a licensed counselor or pastor first.

EXIT 5Beyond the song

Next steps

A song can carry you for three minutes. People carry you for years. These are places I'd send someone I love. I don't run any of them, and none of them pay me.

Did you know? Let AI carry the small stuff

Most people still use AI like a search box. It can do a lot more of the heavy lifting on a hard week. Copy a prompt, fill in the brackets, and paste it into whatever AI you use.

AI can be wrong, so check anything that matters. Never paste in passwords, account numbers, or your Social Security number. If tonight is bad, skip all this and call or text 988.

EXIT 6Your turn

Tell me yours

Which song found you, and where were you when it did? I read every one. With your OK, I may share it without your name, so the next person knows they aren't the only one.

Tell Me YoursStart with the song. Then write.
If you're hurting right now, don't write to me first. Call or text 988. Veterans and service members, press 1 after dialing 988, or text 838255. I'm a songwriter, not a counselor, and I can't answer fast enough to help in a crisis.

EXIT 7Who's driving

Who's behind the mirror

I'm a husband who's still learning, a dad to grown daughters, and a son who still talks to his father, even though Pop's been gone a while.

I've spent my whole adult life in jobs where you don't say you're tired. I served. I led people. I carried a lot of it quietly, and some of it I carried wrong.

These songs are where I set it down. The words come from my own life. The music is built with AI tools, because I'm a writer, not a singer. I'm not a therapist, a pastor, or an expert either. Just a guy with a small mirror and a long road.

You won't find my name here. That's not hiding. It keeps this about you, not me. If you've sat in the parking lot, you already know who I am.
